But then, in a moment of inspiration, we realized it's now or never - rain or shine - we came to learn to surf!
And it was one of the best experiences.
So we hauled our asses, in the cold rain, to the surf club and hired us a teacher. He was so sweet & we didn't feel embarrassed with him about being a little scared. He thought it was funny that we were learning to surf in Spain since we come from California. I stood up on my first try and after about 15 minutes I was doing it on my own. It's still hard, and I only did the baby waves, but I got speed and I got the feel for it.
So now I like surfing and hope to do lots of it, around the world!
And I hope Syna comes with me.
Cool! Where are the pics???
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!! Charlie goes surfing like 2 times a week. I really want to learn also <3
ReplyDeleteJustine, after years of having the appropriate hair, you are finally a surfer! What about Syna, did she stand up too? Kelly Slater's been waiting a long time.
ReplyDeleteGil's right. We need pictures. My dear friends on the other side of the globe, Spain doesn't know how lucky it is.
I did stand up! It was so fun! It's too bad we didn't get any pictures because I'm like totally sure we would have looked like professionals (Justine did, I didn't). But is was a great time, and we're going to do it again as soon as we get to another beach town.
